Intellectual Property Department headed by Galyna Pavlenko (who is a patent agent of Ukraine under the number 128) operates in such directions as:
- Counselling in determining industrial object property rights;
- Assistance in preparing papers for legalizing of industrial object property rights (inventions, useful models, industrial models, trademarks);
- Retrieval of patent information relatively to papers submitted for patenting;
- Preparation and submission of applications for industrial object property record;
- Acting for university on industrial property issues in relations with natural and legal persons, patent agencies and authorities in Ukraine and abroad;
- Document preparation for protection of university industrial property against encroachment of the third parties, including protection from unfair competition;
- Advertising of industrial property objects and issuing intellectual property objects created by university scientists;
- Drawing up development contracts for scientific and technical product or service;
- Drawing up exclusive/nonexclusive license contracts of transfer of rights to usage of intellectual property objects and agreements of cession of rights;
- Other services inside competence of the department.
Department also offers such services for a fee as:
- Completion and submission of invention application;
- Completion and submission of useful model application;
- Completion and submission of industrial model application;
- Completion and submission of application for goods and services mark;
- Convention priority application;
- Making amendments and introducing clarity into application on patentee's initiative;
- Presenting a petition for conducting qualifying examination of invention application;
- Preparation of applicant’s response for examination inquiry;
- Preparation of reasoned response for preliminary rejection decision of a patent application;
- Accelerated examination of goods and services mark;
- Preparation of reasoned response for notification of possible rejection in granting the registration of the mark;
- Receiving a patent;
- Receiving a certificate of Ukraine of goods and services mark;
- Making amendments concerning a patent into Public register;
- Making amendments in regard to granting the registration of the goods and services mark into Public register;
- Resumption of omitted legal terms;
- Presenting a petition for action of merits of patented invention (useful model);
- Maintenance of a patent annually;
- Continuation of term of a patent;
- Continuation of duration of a certificate of the goods and services mark;
- Submission of a communication confutation;
- Drawing up of a license agreement or assignment agreement;
- Registration of a license agreement or assignment agreement;
- Making amendments into records of Public register about granting a licence in regard to every industrial model specified in a contract;
- Making amendments into records of Public register about granting a licence in regard to every goods and services mark specified in a contract;
- Retrieval of patent information in one IPC group relatively to exposure of invention (useful model) analogues;
- Retrieval of patent information relatively to exposure of patents preventing production usage;
- Preliminary search for identical or similar to the grade of confusion marks in Ukrpatent database;
- Translation from Russian to Ukrainian and vice versa;
- Document preparation for protection of industrial property against encroachment of the third parties, including protection from unfair competition.
