Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD) Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD) was founded in 1930 as Kyiv Polytechnic Institute of Leather Industry. In June 1944 Institute obtained the name of Kyiv Technological Institute of Light Industry (textile and clothing, leather and footwear industries). In 1992 Kyiv Technological Institute of Light Industry was accredited to the 4-th (highest) level of higher education institutions and renamed into State Academy of Light Industry of Ukraine. Later, in 1999, after re-accreditation, it was renamed in Kyiv State University of Technologies and Design. And with time, in 2001 University gained its present name of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD). Today Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design is a higher education institution of the 4-th level. Licence: АВ № 498247 of 27.10.2009.
